Addendum: when I say “bird” I specifically mean “budgie.” I realize many types of parrots range up in the thousands of dollars. Crazy. Price certainly matters at that point.
Everybody talks about how much it costs to buy a bird up front. Nobody talks about how much it costs to take care of them for a year. Personally, I didn’t care how much my actual bird cost, because I knew the difference would be trivial compared to a cage and a year’s supply of food. That’s why I went with hand-bred.
You can tell if its male or female by looking at the cere (Wich in where the nostrils are) And if its dark blue its a male if its brown or tan its a girl. If you have a really young bird you probly wont be able to tell whether its male or female until it gets a little older. And For your other question, somtimes you can potty train them lol, WICH will require alot of training. And please don’t yell at your bird IF it does use the bathroom on you.
