Our Rottie male is VERY mellow compared to how our Lab was as a pup. He is very headstrong and likes to “test”… I would reccomend frequent outtings where you take your Rot walking and meeting other dogs/owners. I also take him out to “people watch” at an outdoor mall as he likes visual stimulation more than running and chasing balls like our lab… Great personality and a real character!

Great video and solid advice. Thanks!

I always found my first Rottweiler a beautiful and loyal companion – but he was always agressive to strangers because we had originally bought him as a gaurd dog. Its amazing how quickly they turn their guard down when they recongise the person is known to the family. Naturally well-mannered and friendly dogs.

  23. canttalkshit says:

Just wanted to make another point. Just in case your vet tells you differently about pro-guard for Rotties. Look for somebody who’ll agree with you. You control the vaccines not the vet you tell them which one you want to use. I had to do a bit of hunting myself I found a great vet after listening to 3 others that didn’t agree. It helps to print out copies of all the info that you can find then bring it to your vet. If they disagree look for somebody else. Good luck !
