When I was at guide dog school only 3 out of 13 of us were totally blind. The rest had various degrees of vision, from seeing shadows to being able to read regular sized print.

I’m from Canada but went to Guide Dogs for the Blind in Oregon. My first guide dog is retired now, and I’m training my next guide/service dog.

Oh yeah :) they accepted my application a while ago and I’m traveling to California this Monday to start training with a guide dog. I’m so looking forward to it. :)

I saw on a guide dog video that you posted a comment saying you were applying for training with a guide dog – I was just wondering whether you were successful or not.

I’m going for a guide dog assessment this Friday, and am really nervous about it because I’ve no idea whether I’m going to pass, but I really hope I do

i miss my guide dog, she was soooo good. She had hip problems, so she didnt graduate, but she did go to an elderly blind woman who didnt move much. So she did still help the community.

when my dog went blind, it was determined she had a systemic problem which ended up being lymphoma. i’m not saying your dog has it, but it may be something to have checked. ???
