How do i get my parakeets to eat fresh fruit and vegetables?
I want my parakeets to be healthy and happy to eat fruits and vegetables. What should i give them? What do you give your bird? Dried or fresh.

I give my birds fresh fruit. But when i started to give it to them they wouldn’t eat it. I found at first if i introduced it after i put it in the blender that would eat it. Now they eat it whole.Good Luck
Fresh fruit and veggies are the best to give your parakeets. Cooked is next best. I don’t feed my parakeets any dried fruits or veggies. Anything dried is usually treated with sulfites, which are toxic to parakeets (and can cause allergies in humans). They are a preservative used to maintain a food’s color.
My parakeets like to eat broccoli, corn, carrots, romaine lettuce and peas the most. They like cantaloupe, apples, pears, peaches, watermelon, and grapes for fruit. They also like to eat hard-boiled eggs (protein). Some of my budgies enjoy the food being cut up into little pieces. Some of my budgies like the food being clipped to the cage (like fresh brocolli).
Some budgies also enjoy yams, sweet potatoes, zucchini, spinach, blueberries, kiwi, apricots, mango, and dandelion greens. Some budgies also like eating cooked rice and pasta.
Make sure anything raw is washed thoroughly. Also, serve anything cooked at room temperature.
Avoid giving your parakeets chocolate, caffiene, avocado, rhubarb, the pits and seeds of any fruits, apple cores, raw potatoes, mushrooms, onions, raw beans, and any high-salt foods.
