How should I get my hamsters to live together?
We had one female hamster for about five months, and we needed to get a new cage so I figured I would get another hamster. She’s pretty young. How should I bring the two hamsters together so they don’t fight and can live in the same cage?
Oh, I forgot to say they’re both teddy bear hamsters.
put a screen between them for a couple of weeks. when i did this, they actually chewed through the screen and got along great
Dpeends on the hamster, dwarf hamsters should be better if you take them and just let them meet in your hands or somewhere, then if they dont fight put them in the cage and just watch out incase.
Syrians are never supposed to be with eachother/in the same cage. They usually want to kill eachother.
You put the cages next to each other and leave it there for a week so they will get used to eachother looks and scents.
I heard tht you should never put hampster togeter b/c they can be very territorial
Well…it depends on the breed if it’s a dwarf hamster..introduce them slowly,if it’s a big hamster..like a Syrian then don’t introduce them as they are very territorial and will end up killing eachother.For introducing them it all depends on the breed,but, introduce them slowly and have a large book to put in between them if they do end up fighting.
dont do that! they will kill each other and do you want that to happen? i think not if you do want another teddy bear hamster you should get another cage
