hmm I think you should find a large container and fill it with water and keep it until you can find a proper home. That’s just what i think

OH! and how big is yout turtle?

  7. vanessalover58 says:

u should never leave a turtle outside without supervision especially at night (: give him love and care and he’ll be happy or she. u should take it to a vet though and confirm everything with him or her before making too many decisions. (: if u don’t hav a good vet where u live then try to find out the type of turtle and i’ll ask my vet what to do. I love helping animals so i don’t mind helping u (:

Yess is it red-eared slider? but before anything don’t let it roam around outside your sight it could get lost! and yes u can let him sleep in water but put a rock next to it. this is basic and make sure he’s out of the cold. tcrisp is right look up what kind it is on the internet on google thy will show u pics to determine (: turtle’s usually need a spicific temp of water usually warm and comfortable not too warm. see if he is very wriggly and anxious means he is’nt comfortable just put a rock

im not venessa lover bt u shuld probably go on the internet, determine what kind of turtle it is, then also look up a care sheet on the internet of tht specific turtle

@vanessalover58 , I brought the turtle to my house the day I posted this. Im feeding it banana’s, carrots, some chicken and lettuce..its eating everything!!! thank god. She roams around my entire patio…one question…At nights do this turtles sleep in water? Should I fill a container with a little water or do they like to sleep in a box? I can’t leave her outside because it gets in 30′s at night! I have no clue what to do for her at nights. Thanks for the help!

She just left it there!! Its very cold were I live, I don’t know how the turtle survived for so long! I feel so sorry for the turtle! Should I keep it as a pet? My house has no yard! I don’t know what to do. I keep thinking about the turtle LOL! any suggestions?

A few other things to look for.
make sure it isn’t struggling to dive and surface in the tank. It should look effortless.

if possible ask the pet store/breeder to feed the turtle while your watching, if it has difficulty going after its food, could indicate a problem. If they say they just fed it, ask when they are feeding it next and come back.

Never buy the runt of the clutch

Considering some species can live for 80 years its worth waiting that extra day or two to make sure they r healthy.

you keep using the pronoun “he” but you know there are female turtles out there, in fact, by the size of the claws and the tail… the one the guy is holding is infact a female, please check the turtle gender before saying it’s a boy or girl xD

yah i guess its kinda like that and when ever he stays out of the water for to long or goes in the sun for too long it gets even worse and one time it was really bad.
The only way i do it is put him in the water otherwise hes fine
also brushing h im with saltwater works

  25. aliza12321 says:

    @axelnemeth
mines does that too but i think they just have to get used to their homee just wait a couple of weeks or months
    its nothing to worry about
