parakeets free to fly outside – outdoor aviary (going inside)
Here is a short clip of my parakeets. I built an outdoor aviary for them so they could enjoy their birdie lives to the fullest. They are free to come and go as they please. There are some risks but they are very happy. The Cockatiel seems to do a great job of keeping other smaller birds from invading their aviary home. They all get along well together. The only animal that has been able to penetrate their fortress is a chipmunk but he has never harmed them. I plan on posting more videos and perhaps someday I will write a book about training outdoor birds and my experiences.

i hope to post more info in the future to answer some questions 1) yes they always come back, they should live in it for at least a month or more before you provide opening, haveing a bird inside that can’t fly may help too 2) some of the top has a roof for shade and they have house inside. 3) only animal that can get in is chipmunk, 4) not hard to build – be sure to put wire mesh under the cage as well as on the sides and top.
do they all come back/.
how much did it cost to buil this
make sure there not in direct sunlight its bad for there skin but ur doin a good job keep it goin
yes -
this is very risky.
I know several people who have lost their birds due to animals figuring out a way to get these domesticated birds right thru the screen..
please be cautious, and think about putting an extra barrier around it..
those birds rely on you
