@rasputinq Hmmm, someone who goes to see a band 15 times doesn’t recommend seeing them more than once? That makes sense… not.
I agree with lennydixie The Hamsters are just not very good- just quite good. No feeling whatsoever & I find the vocals just annoying.I have seen them live about 15 times but find they just churn out the songswhen they and are very smug & cheesy
when they swop guitars at the end of their set.Would not bother to go and see them again. The band have played the same songs on far too many gigs & just lack conviction now.Awful
They sometimes tour with Dr Feelgood
@lennydixie – Yea man Its the hamsters not Hendrix and thats his own guitar sound. And there will never be a band that can do what Hendrix did.
Just watch the Hamsters last night At Mainsforth, Co Durham I’ve lost count of the amount of times I have and as much as I like their Hendrix sets I actually Prefer to listen to their original stuff. Their Open all hours album is fantastic and if anybody thinks they are a cheap covers band they have completely missed the point there is so much more to this band, that’s why the likes of Albert Collins and Walter Trout have had them as a support Band.
Hey wake up – its not Hendrix – its Bob Dylan
just seen em last night
mint
the bass player is funny
always enjoy a hamsters gig.. nice one
Agreed you can tell hes just got complete control of that guitar!
@lennydixie You’re right in a way – Snailpace doesn’t have the Hendrix guitar sound – he plays with more gain than Hendrix. But his feeling is spot on – I agree with the RudeHamster. If you want a more “authentic” Hendrix guitar sound check out Randy Hansen live. Also terrific live. Somehow I prefer the rockin’ rodents tho’
saw them yesterday at Norden Farm, pretty awesome.
Slim Kicks Ass
they are imense
im seeing them on the 17th
seeing them is like enjoying a pint or five….you know what to expect…..its always great and thats why you see them time and time again
Cadillac walk is still there best number yet
Nice one Slim! I’ve been to see these guys many times since 1992 – keep on going and keep up the good work. Slim inspired my guitar style (Slight Return).
5 stars!!!!
seen them recently in southport for the sixth time, still a great live band . their own material is worth a listen.
It isn’t meant to be. The Hamsters interpret Hendrix, they don’t try to copy him. Most of their Hendrix material sounds nothing like Hendrix, it does however give the same ‘feeling’.
First time I’ve heard them, maybe its just that clip, but there is just some thing missing, do not get me wrong , i would go to see them for the sake of a live band playing . but that just is’nt jimmi hendrix’s guitar sound
amazin band!!! have all albums and dvds so far, cost me a bomb mind but amazin… has any1 got the guitar tab 2 this song??? i rele want 2 learn their version!!!
saw them last nite at dartford kent n they were brilliant carnt wait to see them again
