My dog is part of my family and deserves government insurance. Why have they forgotten about the millions of pets in this great nation?

Uhh its only cover 32 million additional people… we still have not givin all the human health care yet… that is on the bottom of the list.

They don’t care because they cannot vote!!! There’s your best answer!

Because if they did, animals wouldn’t have the incentive to go out and find jobs to cover their own rising vet care costs and we’d have a lot of lazy pets just lying around all day doing nothing while begging us for treats they haven’t really earned. Plus the whole “does it cover spaying and neutering” debate would probably cause too much of a controversy among pets who deem it a violation of their reproductive rights.

In this country, everything is either a person or property. If it’s not a human being, it’s property. Alas, that goes for non-human dependents.

Does it really surprise you, though, considering the low regard most folks have for animals?
